INTERLOK DEVICE DRIVERS AVID INSTALL
Seems there is a microsoft update that is needed to hotfix it? Then after you install the hotfix first, then an interlok install to fix some security driver files? Anyway, I downloaded both. I found a thread in the archives for the L2 and it worked I'm back in business. I tried a whole slew of things from changing user settings in the control panel. Here's my specs xw8000, 3gb ram, XP SP2, Running MCA v 2.6.2 I too am not using protools on my machine. When I did try to use it today I got the same error of: "DAE interface NOT available (stubbed)" I haven't used my audio suite in a while. Among other complaints, their s/n ratios are just unacceptable.I would not install a Soundblaster card in any of my machines. IMHO, not worthy of a music creation workflow. Echo is a premium quality sound card, has been for years.ĪND, my point is that if Avid is that sensitive to other vendor's Microsoft Certificated software drivers, what does that say about the viability of Avid? Creative Soundblaster sound cards are consumer products. Could the Echo drivers permanently FUBAR the registry, as far as Avid's concerned? hmmm.unlikely. Likewise, ProTools starts up, then crashes 30 seconds into the execution. I disabled the Mona sound card, installed the Mbox2 and guess what? I can get sound out of the Mbox, but, the AudioSuite still fails by giving me the same DAE error message, then crashes Avid. So, that's why I bought a Digidesign Mbox2 Mini. OK, I can accept that the sound card could be the problem. If I thought Avid had concluded that it is all my fault, I wouldn't be flogging this mare. I emailed John twice, last week, to ask about progress and all he said was that they were working on it. Well, that it's my sound card is news to me.
